What do you buy?

How do you price a stake?
We start from the last round price, then look at the share class, the company's progress since that round and how long ago it was. Our startup equity calculator shows the same logic.
Does the company need to agree?
Usually yes. Most shareholder agreements give the company or existing investors a right of first refusal and require board consent for a transfer. We help you work through it.
Can I sell virtual shares (VSOP or phantom shares)?
Usually not. Virtual shares are a contract with the company that pays out at an exit, so there is nothing to transfer. Tell us anyway if the company runs buybacks or converts them.
Will you tell anyone I want to sell?
No. We keep what you send confidential and contact the company only after you agree.
